Ulverstone Squash Club

The Autumn roster has just finished and the grand final was played recently with the Gin’s [Daniel Bailey, Brodie de Boer, Sebastian Jongschaap and Sally Charleston] defeating the Whis- key’s [Mitch Guard, Bill Hutcheson, Bill Jongschaap,Nathaniel Killick] 3 games to 1.

The Wednesday night spring pennant roster will begin after a short winter recess and any people interested in playing should contact Pam Bailey 0428 493 232 or Andrew Woodhouse on 0438 064 471. Beginners are welcome and all abilities are ca- tered for. There willbe a couple of practice sessions and grading nights before the pennant starts.

The club has also hosted some very successful pop up squash nights this year. A great way to play a variety of people from oth- er clubs. For those interested keep an eye on our Facebook page or messenger site as only a few days notice is given and positions are limited.

The Penguin/Ulverstone challenge has been resurrected and Ul- verstone hosted Penguin on Wednesday 29th May and Penguin hosted Ulverstone on Wednesday 5th June. The clubs will be competing for the Central Coast Shield, which to date has only been won by the Penguin Squash Club.

The club recently hosted a very successful Synectic Ulverstone Squash Open with players from around the state competing. The event was sponsored by Synectic Accountants and Advisers; Tasmanian Consulting Service; Harvey Norman Electrical Devonport; Torque Gear for Guys; Simplot; TASFREIGHT.
