Well, the night lived up to all the hype.
The Central Coast Chamber of Commerce Business Awards went off like a cracker!
Held at the Ulverstone Sports and Rec Centre on Saturday evening, 14th of September, business owners and their families, sponsors, councillors, politicians enjoyed great food, a couple of drinks and were entertained (and informed) by guest Speaker, Rob Pennicott – a legend in Tasmanian Tourism.
Also, Mayor Cheryl Fuller announced the MASSIVE Christmas Event, Summer on Ice, to be held down at the Wharf Precinct December 10th – 26th.
Hosted by Chamber President, Craig Heppell, there were laughs aplenty along with an upbeat atmosphere.
Over 120 attendees witnessed the results of over 500 public nominations for 13 business award categories.
Here is the list of Winners:
Apprentice/Trainee: Alex Mantje from Top Cut Group
He has an innovative approach to problem solving and often performs better than a fully qualified tradesman. His employer is proud to have them part of their team.
Successful Start Up: Juanita Harvey Swim School
This business provides a necessary service to the North West Coast. The owner has great patience and understanding for each individuals needs and puts her heart and soul into teaching a life skill.
Excellence in Manufacturing & Trade: True Trays
The workmanship at this business is described as amazing. With the owner described as a very very skilled tradesmen that takes pride in his work and goes above and beyond by communicating and providing updates- by message and photos through out the project.
Innovation: Wild One Catering
This Business started 6 months before Covid hit and has been innovating since. Be it the Food van or Coffee van- Side of the highway or large scale events. This business has seen an opening for the catering side of the business and established a Venue to host weddings and functions at their own farm.
Hair & Beauty: Shine on Main
This friendly salon creates a warm and fun atmosphere- where clients love attending because they are treated like a person and not a number being rushed through. Clients look forward appointments and leave feeling wonderful – with great hair.
Hospitality: Coffee & Soul
Described multiple times as the best coffee shop on the North west Coast- but also referred to as like “having a cuppa at a friends house”!
Agribusiness: Harvest Moon
This “Amazing innovative” business continues to develop in all areas of growing, harvesting, grading, washing, cooling and packing.
Tours & Attractions: Leven River Cruises
This business received many nominations. The experience goes over and above expectations and provides historic, bird life and river/environmental knowledge.
Services: Ulverstone Childcare Centre
They go above and beyond to ensure everyone receives personalized, nurturing attention- from highly skilled staff that are deeply passionate about the environment they create.
Retail: Euphoria Boutique
This delightful shop- provides exceptional customer service on every visit. Affordable and unique products that cater for all ages.
Accommodation: Amare Beachside Luxury
When you arrive at this location – you become completely immersed in luxury. Multiple winner of Luxlife Magazines Award for most Romantic Beachfront Escape or Accommodation in Tasmania
Individual: Tiny’s Joinery & Maintenance

President’s Award: Leven Antiques Centre
Received 211 Nominations- each one hand written by a satisfied visitor to the store! Many comments were about the exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable staff
