Book review – “Between”

A guide for parents of eight to thirteen-year-olds
by Sarah Ockwell-Smith

Sarah is a master of writing informatively, showing parents how to bridge the difference in mindset within family dynamics when children are developing their own thinking between the ages of 8 and 13. Written in a gentle manner, she encourages parents to understand how biological changes within tweens change their attitudes to family, social and academic life. Valuable chapters include tips for school motivation, mental health, body positivity and fostering financial independence. Much information is given for parents on typical tween behaviour and an understanding of how tween brains change dramatically. A must read for all parents, Sarah Ockwell-Smith is also the author of the Gentle Sleep Book and The Gentle Discipline Book.
