Editorial July 2024

Jul11,2024

Greetings Central Coast,

Here we go with the first issue of The Central Coast Voice now that the baton has been passed to us from Lesley and Doug! First, I want to thank them for all of their hard work and dedication to the Central Coast Community over the years even though they live in Sheffield. The Central Coast is an incredibly special place and they knew it too.

The aim moving forward is to continue to be an independent and unbiased source of news and communication from and for the community of the Central Coast. The sense of community is one of the major reasons that we decided to move here and we want to continue to celebrate the ideas, events, experiences, and perspectives from residents here.

There is a unique and wonderful culture here in the Central Coast and in the North West that we want to help bring to light. We will be soliciting stories that tell us about the place where we all get to live. We hope to entertain, educate, be helpful, and add value to the beautiful quality of life that is already here.

There are lots of formal community organisations and informal groups in and around the Central Coast and we want to hear from you. We also want to highlight local legends, and local businesses too.

If you have something going on, or if you’ve just done something fun or cool or impactful, write up a short story 150 to 250 words and give us a picture or two and we’ll help spread the word. We also love longer articles, so talk to us if there’s something you want to share.

The paper distribution is moving forward to the beginning of the month and we’ll need your articles in by the 21st to make it into the next issue. If you miss the cut off date or it doesn’t make it in, we’ll still share it on the website and socials.

We’re the voice, you’re the voice… let’s make a noise and make it clear.

All the very best, Jennifer Hamilton
