Garage and Car Boot Sale Brings Community Together! – Pam Ingram

South Riana Memorial Hall was a hive of activity on February 1st, when the committee held a garage and car boot sale. Over 20 cars and trailers made their way to the Hall grounds with bargains to sell. The Hall itself was filled with a large variety of items donated by locals including clothing, toys, books, furniture, plants, jams and relishes, and household goods. Shoppers soaked in the sunshine and browsed the assortment of bits and bobs, enjoying the country atmosphere and hospitality of some homemade goodies, ham and cheese toasties, and a cuppa.

The event also had a unique twist, with a couple of adoption stalls, one with guinea pigs and the other from Riana Cat Project with their kittens, drawing plenty of attention from families and animal lovers.

The Hall was opened again several times during the following week for bargain hunters who were unable to attend on the day to come and have a browse. It was a great community effort organised by our hard working committee.
