With Open Library Access, you can now visit the Penguin Library every day from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, even on weekends and public holidays! In a first for the state, the self-access trial at Penguin Library allows you to visit the library during unstaffed hours at your convenience.
The additional hours of access will make it easier for those with busy schedules, work commitments, or family responsibilities to access our fantastic library services.
Open Library Access member Rebecca says “We love visiting our local library (and librarian) when it’s open but life with small children is not always predictable. If things get busy on ‘library day’, it’s great to know we can come in and get books or holds when it suits our family. Library day can be any day with Open Library Access!”.
Libraries Tasmania members can use Open Library Access after completing an on-site induction. Staff at Penguin Library will continue to be available during regular opening hours to provide the same service you know and love.
