Senator Anne Urquhart today announced that two festivals “Ten Days on the Island and The Unconformity, showcase the North West and West Coast will receive funding under the Albanese Government’s Festivals Australia program.
Senator Anne Urquhart said that are two outstanding festivals that have been very successful in attracting visitors to our region.
”They promote the great talents and attractions of the North West and West Coast. It’s fantastic that the Albanese Government can support their ongoing success. They have attracted growing audiences and participation, increased tourism and visits to local attractions and provide a positive flow on effect for economic activity in local shops, restaurants, cafes, and accommodation.”
TIME REBEL, an original performance work by Tasmanian bestselling author, TV presenter and designer, Hannah Moloney will receive $47,840 in Federal Government funding. The production has been commissioned for the 2025 Ten Days on the Island program and will be held at the renovated Burnie Arts Centre. The production will involve collaboration with artists and community groups in the North West including local choirs.
THE UNCONFORMITY festival will receive $61,582 in Federal funding to stage its centrepiece Crib Road in Queenstown. Crib Road transforms the main street into a festival space for live music, artists, performers, and local producers showcasing regional food and beverages.
The two festivals are among nineteen projects receiving over $700,000 in Federal Government Festival Australia funding announced today by the Minister for the Arts, the Hon Tony Burke MP.
