Manager’s Desk
Introductions!
The New Year brought a major blessing to The Voice. A longtime local and retired school teacher, Jenny Rowden, answered the call about volunteering, and in the past several weeks, she has brought so much energy, enthusiasm, and heart to the community. Clearly, she is service-oriented and someone who just gets in there and gets things going! She keeps our community top of mind and has reached out to countless individuals, organisations, and businesses about contributing to and helping make this publication an even richer resource.
We are incredibly grateful that Jenny has joined us and look forward to continuing to deliver good quality information, interesting stories, and contributions from and about our local community. It is with the help of volunteers that make this publication possible.
Tasmania has a wide variety of volunteering options, consider following Jenny’s lead and put yourself out there for an enhanced life experience while being part of something bigger.
All the very best,
Jennifer & David

The silly season is gone and now we are in the crazy season. Summer in Tasmania has been known to wander along into April and May extending into Easter and Anzac Day long weekend.
Meanwhile……. …In Tassie, summer brings the festival circuit alive, everywhere, attracting performers locally and from mainland states, to augment the very talented local line up.
At my recent Folk Festival many artists met late in the evenings for a jamming session of varied instrumentation including guitar, flute, accordion, mandolin, violin/fiddle, cello, drums washboard, drums, all with a traditional folkish flavour.
Meanwhile…….… In the Tasmanian summer, there is another cultural event. Tasmanians, as much as mainlanders, all go camping in the summer.
My time spent camping this summer has been an education in enthusiasm which most mainlanders have for visiting Tasmania for 3, 4, 5 months. The locals vanish into secret bush places, for fishing, beach shacking with large family/friends’ gatherings spending time out/relaxing, sitting around a firepit/campfire.
Perhaps the modern equivalent of corroboree??

SHOUTOUT TO ‘I Print Photos’
We are thrilled to announce that iprintphotos has generously offered to print our free community newspaper at a very generous rate. It is wonderful to have support from a local business with thoughtful people like Karen and Ken Vayne who have a heart for community!
At the same time, it is sad to no longer be connected in the same way to Lesley and Doug Begg, who established TCCV and were the driving force for so long. We thank them for all their hard work and commitment to the Central Coast community and wish them ongoing success and happiness with Kentish Press in Sheffield.
Visit IPP for all your printing needs such as binding, laminating, photo printing, canvas prints and poster prints.
They operate under the umbrella of Ricoh Business Centre which is the exclusive dealer for NW Tas. They can supply and service printers, projectors and Multifunction devices. The TCCV team are very grateful to have our printing being done right here in the heart of the Central Coast, at 5 Killowatt Drive, Ulverstone, previously located in Victoria Street. This saves us a lot of time in picking up the printed copies. Check out their website and FB page to support them, as they support us and our community.
