Come to Hiscutt Park in Penguin for a weekend of fishing fun on December 7th and 8th. The club will host two exciting events: a Ladies’ Day on Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm, followed by a Kids’ Trout Fishing Day on Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm.
Ladies’ Day is perfect for both experienced anglers and newcomers. With no fishing license required, it’s an ideal opportunity for women to enjoy the sport. Tweak Coldhill, a local enthusiast, hopes to inspire more women to give fishing a try, sharing how it has become a peaceful pastime that her whole family enjoys. “The tranquillity of fishing is unbeatable, and it’s great for mental health,” she said.
The weekend continues with a Kids’ Trout Fishing Day, where children under 17 can learn the basics of fishing in a friendly, supportive environment. The event is designed to get youngsters outdoors, teach them patience, and to stay focused.
Both events include expert guidance, prizes, and plenty of fun. The Ulverstone Anglers Club, with over a century of history, remains committed to promoting family-friendly fishing in Tasmania. The entry fee for each day is a gold coin donation, making it accessible to everyone.
