Riana Hall – Christmas in Winter Trivia Night

The cheers and laughter were so loud they reverberated all across the paddocks of South Riana.

Many who attended the South Riana Memorial Hall Christmas in Winter Trivia Night entered into the spirit of things by dressing up in Christmas costumes – including Santa, an elf, Christmas finery and the Grinch.  Judging of the wining costume was determined by way of the most enthusiastic and loudest cheers from the crowd.

There were twelve teams who came from all around the district and as far away as Wynyard and Bakers Beach.  Ages ranged from primary school children to pensioners. All had to wrack their brains because the trivia questions ranged from the very hard to ones that only the youngest participants could confidently answer.

Prior to the night the committee had worked hard to decorate the hall with lots and lots and lots of tinsel, baubles, Christmas trees, lights and various images of Santa.

During a break from questions, each team was asked to dress up one of their own as a snowman.  Three rolls of toilet paper were given to each team.  There was a lot of fun and laughter as one of their members was wrapped around and around and around with the toilet paper.  Hats were donated by other members and pipes, fake noses and buttons creatively constructed.  The winning snowman won a small prize.

The night was so successful another Trivia Night will definitely be considered for the future.

All money raised will go towards maintaining the South Riana Memorial Hall, a centrepiece of the local community. Pam Ingram, Life Member of South Memorial Hall
