International Overdose Awareness Day 2024

Aug28,2024

The Drug Education Network and the Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs Council invite you to join us in commemorating International Overdose Awareness Day on Monday 2nd September, 2024.

Shine a Light and reduce the stigma associated with overdose by learning about the support available in Tasmania.

Join the Campaign and show your support by attending a local event on the 2nd of September.

Fold a crane to commemorate lives lost to overdose.

EVENT DETAILS

The event will provide opportunities to:

  • fold cranes
  • place cranes to create an artwork
  • learn about overdose
  • hear personal stories from our own Lived Experience Advocates
  • be a part of a minute’s silence to remember those lost to overdose
  • chat over a cuppa and refreshments

Share the photos of your cranes on social media to amplify our message of ending overdose. Use the hashtags #EndOverdose,  #OverdoseAware, and #IOAD2024, and mention @OverdoseDay.

Bring folded cranes to your event to show your support. If you haven’t folded a crane, or if you can’t fold a crane pre-folded cranes will be available on the day so everyone can be part of creating the art installation.
