Coroneagh Park Penguin was officially opened in 1997 and was substantially redeveloped in 2017. The first Committee meeting was held at the Guide Hall in 1996, which was situated at the rear of the Coroneagh Park home – it was later demolished when the extensions to the home were built. In its 28 years of existence, the Auxiliary has been providing many extra essentials to assist in transitioning from home to becoming a resident in this aged care facility of Coroneagh Park.
The Committee has worked tirelessly, raising $138,770.81 from 1996 to 2022 in finances for furnishings, garden features, and other items in its early stages before being taken over by Respect. Some of our foundation committee members are still attending meetings once a month, besides taking a trolley around the residents’ rooms so they can buy any extras they may need.
We are hoping there will be some new members who can answer this urgent call. The meetings are held each month on the 3rd Monday at 1 pm at the home.
The aims and objectives of the Auxiliary is to take an active interest in the welfare and comfort of the residents at Coroneagh Park Aged Care facility in Penguin. The Auxiliary assists in raising funds for the purchase of equipment and social care needs. It also offers a weekly room to room kiosk service that allows residents to purchase small items for their personal needs. Auxiliary members assist in providing social activities and social interaction with residents in liaison with Management and Staff.
